In the World of Crawling Dead The Record of War of a Certain High School

Chapter 61 - Rushing in Recklessly and Steady Advancing

“Next is cutting…”

Since the man was once again coming closer, Rei put himself on guard.

(I don’t really get it but I’m saved… But there will be no next time. Miracles only happen once! I have to do the rest on my own somehow!)

Rei surveyed his surroundings.

Chairs, dust cloths, match, and a milk bottle filled with water to extinguish any fire.

None of the things were any special.

However, it was not an opponent he could somehow deal with using brute force.

The last ray of hope would be someone rescuing them, but he couldn’t even call for help.

He would obviously be killed before that.

What should he do?

As he was thinking about that, the man was drawing closer.

When he was at his wits’ end, a silhouette suddenly appeared behind the man.

“Get away from Brother!”

“Yui!?”

“...!”

The man quickly turned around and paraded Yui’s flying kick with his blade.

Yui did a somersault and moved back.

“A child, huh…”

“If you don’t get away from Brother, I’ll kill you.”

“Yui, get away!”

“I don’t wanna. Brother will die then.”

“Yui!”

Yui silently took out a gun hanging from her waist.

“I got it from a yakuza. Well then, will you get away from Brother?”

“I refuse.”

“Then I’ll kill you?”

“You will not kill me.”

“Oh, really? Let’s try then!”

Yui smiled and pulled the trigger.

The bullet shot out from the muzzle.

Guns are naturally made to kill living beings, and the bullet rotated as it twisted people’s life force.

The bullet Yui shot was also supposed to be like that.

Until the man turned over his sword.

There was a loud clang and then silence.

There was a hole in the man’s right cheek and in the wall behind him.

Blood spurted out from his cheek.

“No way, I shot at his heart though…”

“If you look closely at the muzzle, it’s not easy to repel the bullet and change its trajectory. Furthermore, he cut it.”

The man briskly walked toward Yui.

“Ugh!”

Yui kept shooting bullet after bullet.

The man didn’t swing the sword this time and put his left hand forward instead.

The bullets pierced his flat hand one after another and took the ear of the man.

Yet, the man didn’t stop.

Again, the man’s left leg and right shoulder were hit.

Even then, the man’s legs didn’t stop.

“W-why!?”

“I have sworn an oath of allegiance with the Rikka Group… My resolution to fight is different from yours.”

Yui pressed her finger to pull the trigger once more, but there were no more bullets.

“O-out of bullets!?”

“Die.”

The man made a long swing with the sword in his right hand and cut Yui.

“Ugh!”

Yui collapsed.

The man shed blood like he had when he killed Tsubaki, headed to the back, and seemed to be trying to kill Rei again.

There, he felt a strange bloodthirst and the man came to a stop.

It was like the tension of a knife being held to his throat.

It was nothing like he had felt up to now, a pure thirst for blood.

Without calculating the profit and loss, it was the feeling of wanting to kill.

Looking behind cautiously, he saw Rei standing there.

However, his outward appearance wasn’t at all like him.

“You… No, I wounded your important person. Are you prepared to fight? I don’t know about that. I will knock you even if I have to throw away this life.”

Even as he was overpowered by the overwhelming bloodthirst, the man assumed a stance with his sword.

“W-wait! You’ll be killed!?”

Sakura tried to make him stand still, but there was nothing stopping Rei anymore.

The more a person is usually quiet, the more there won’t be anything to stop them.

“I’ll be killed? …I’ve already lost my temper!!!”

Rei ran as hard as he could toward the man.

(If Rei rams him like this, he’ll definitely die. I have to avoid at least that!)

Sakura once again entwined a strand of her hair around the man’s hand.

However, it didn’t pass a second time.

The man noticed the existence of the hair.

“A strand of hair… This length, a girl!”

The man had his attention focused on Sakura.

It was naturally not negligence on the man’s part.

Thinking of Rei’s running speed, he decided he had the time to pay attention to Sakura and turned his attention her way.

However, Rei now was behaving recklessly.

To think that he was “coming running” was a mistake.

Rei was “flying”.

He crashed his head into the man.

It was the man who was surprised.

The man had instinctively sensed Rei coming rushing in and tried to untie the hair to swing his sword at Rei.

However, he hadn’t swung.

From behind, something had cut his right leg.

The man unconsciously broke his stance.

“Serves you… right…”

Yui had thrown a bullet that hadn’t hit him at the man.

“The likes of this child!”

“Youuuu!!!”

Rei slammed his head against the man’s face.

“Ugh!?”

“This is for Yui!”

A right straight.

“This is for me!”

A left upper cut.

“This is for Senior Tsubaki!”

Another straight to the solar plexus.

“I’m still frustrated so this is for me!”

A right hook.

“And for Yui!”

A hard punch to the face.

“This is! For being told that I’m a lolicon and making me annoyed!!”

A kick to the wound on his leg.

“And so this is for Yui!!!”

A headbutt.

The man stooped down to the ground.
