Doomsday Divine Seed Cultivator

Chapter 32: Spending the Night

Hua Cheng tilted his head to look at Xun Yi. “Do you think you can find treasure there?”

Xun Yi gently stroked the sheath in his hand. “Even if there is no treasure, the monster itself should be a treasure trove.”

Killing zombies with levels consecutively might produce equipment, and killing special evolved zombies might increase the chances slightly. He wondered how much EXP and treasures he would be rewarded for killing a monster boss.

Hua Cheng was surprised. “You want to kill that monster?”

Xun Yi had not decided yet. He said, “I’ll take a look tomorrow.”

If possible, he would not miss such a good opportunity.

Hua Cheng pondered and said, “If you can really kill the monster, follow me to the military base after that.”

Xun Yi didn’t respond but wiped his saber with a bed sheet.

In fact, he wanted to find Yin Fuchuan, but he didn't know where he was. Xun Yi was worried that something would happen to him.

Hua Cheng added, “I think the only place in the entire Qing City we can seek refuge is probably the military base now.”

However, Xun Yi begged to differ. “I don’t think so.”

“If even the military base cannot accept us, we won’t be able to find anywhere else to stay.”

Xun Yi wanted to tell him that it was not only limited to Qing City but the entire planet Earth.

“I'll go with you tomorrow before we head to the military base. We can’t keep hiding everywhere like this.”

At Xun Yi’s silence, Hua Cheng wanted to persuade him again, but Xun Yi simply said, “Okay.”

After getting the answer he wanted, Hua Cheng stopped asking any more questions but closed his eyes and rested. They should seize the chance to rest whenever possible.

The night passed in peace.

At dawn the next day, Xun Yi distributed some snacks to several people, but the amount was less than yesterday. That was almost all he had in his backpack. The remaining food was for Xun Ye.

After eating, Xun Yi held the saber that never left his hand, carried Xun Ye on his back, and prepared to set off.

Xun Ye was very energetic from his good night’s sleep.

Yu Xiao also had a good sleep, which was rare for her. She didn’t hear the conversation between them last night, so she was puzzled when she saw them getting ready. “Where are you going?”

Hua Cheng said that he was going to see the monster, and Yu Xiao's face turned pale.

Li Rui, who had rarely spoken since last night, said, “Have you forgotten how your leg was injured? Those people are extremely vicious, and there’s that scary monster there. Why do you have to go there? Can’t we just leave?”

Hua Cheng glanced at Xun Yi and said, “I’ll take a look with Xun Yi. You can stay here and wait for us to come back.”

Hua Cheng looked around. This place was not too bad. The building outside collapsed and was in ruins. They climbed up from a half-broken staircase yesterday. The broken part was a little high and they couldn't climb up without help.

After they go down, they’ll break more of the stairs so that neither zombies nor survivors could climb up.

Li Rui still tried to persuade him. “Are you sure about this?”

Hua Cheng insisted. “Xun Yi and I will return after taking a look. You can just wait for us here.”

Yu Xiao knew that they had to go out and face danger if they wanted to improve their strength. Xun Yi was so powerful now because he braved the zombies. She witnessed that herself. Even if she knew that outside was full of danger, she couldn’t stop her son from going out.

“Go ahead, I'll wait for you here.” Yu Xiao didn't want to hold them back, so instead of following them and letting them take care of her, it was better to stay and wait.

Seeing that Aunt Yu was staying, Li Rui had no choice but to say, “Okay, I'll wait for you here and take care of Auntie by the way.”

Hua Cheng smiled at him. He got his looks from his mother. Although he was a man, he exuded a cool and elegant impression. He treated others with gentleness, tolerance, and generosity. His smile was like a refreshing breeze, and all the troubles could be forgotten.

Although he was born into a military family, he didn’t join the army. Instead, he finished college and chose to go into business and became a businessman.

“Thanks,” Hua Cheng said sincerely.

Li Rui's tense expression relaxed. He said, “Don’t worry.” He looked at Lu Di and said, “Can you return my pickaxe to me now?”

Lu Di was a little embarrassed. He felt a little guilty for taking other people’s things. He looked at Xun Yi, wondering whether to return the pickaxe or not.

Xun Yi nodded. “Give it to him.”

Lu Di returned the pickaxe in his hand to Li Rui.

Li Rui took it and looked at the empty-handed Lu Di, finally feeling more at ease.

In this crisis-ridden Doomsday, anyone could be killed in an attack at any time without a weapon in hand.
